The engagement session gives couples a wonderful opportunity to get to know their photographer, get more comfortable being in front of the camera and (of course) get lots of great pictures... having fun, being in love. This is Jerry, I am working on a custom wedding album. We design each album one spread at a time. We use Photoshop 100% and do not use template software to make it quick.  I could not imagine sending this work out.  The engagement photo spread is always a favorite of mine to design.




Stylized images of personality or character break up the album mood. I am glad she chose this shot instead if the formal pose.

Well, Jerry and I have a little friendly challenge to see if we can encourage each other to stay current with our photography blog. This is a great, interactive outlet for us to get more personable about the images we take. We'd love to receive your comments as well!

I must say, choosing only 10 of my favorite photos (out of about 1,900) from Crystal and Brad's wedding was much harder than I thought it would be. Kristyn Patterson, one of our regular photographers we work with, photographed this special event with me. I included a few of her creative shots along with my personal favorites.

That's a wrap... - Karen Favorite

The Ribault Club  is an amazing location to have and photograph a wedding. Virginia and Dallas had a beautiful wedding with tons of Southern flare. Below are several black and white photo samples, but I deliver more color images with my wedding photography. Something about b&w images has always intrigued me. Color can distract from the purity of a shot from my original intent. Hard to say what creative direction I will take with any image, but black and white has been a creative outlet lately for me. Virginia and Dallas are incredible and I hope they enjoy the images as much as I did shooting them.














 

They are crazy about each other!!!

Crystal loves the beach, but Jason is just not into it. Besides the tiny hurtle we got the best shots. I am very proud of this engagement session. They were so relaxed  all I had to do was compose my shots and shoot. We were lucky to catch the sail boat in the shot below besides the spontaneous gazes they made. I cant wait shoot  the wedding!
