Saint Augustine Beach Family Portrait

Family is such an important part of our lives and there's nothing better than capturing the essence of parents and their children, both together in a group and as unique individuals.  Favorite Photographygraphy.com/ portrait sessions are a fun experience and we shoot a variety of creative and traditional photos, including more candid lifestyle images. Our goal is to produce photographs a family will cherish.

Here is a sampling from a recent family photo session Jerry photographed at St. Augustine Beach. These are from our new, one-hour location portrait session which includes a digital download of all unadjusted images. This concept was created so everyone can enjoy amazing photographs at an affordable price. With all of our photo shoots, we include a free personal gallery online for sharing with family and friends.

Photographing Couples in St Augustine

It's always refreshing and an absolute joy to work with happy couples in love. Our typical engagement session lasts about two hours and during that time we have a chance to be an artist, creating original pieces of photographic art and memories. It's like having a blank canvas when you start out with two people, whom which are not paid models, and end up with many little masterpieces. Saint Augustine Engagement Photography Photography
Jordan and Brian are a great example of how wonderful an engagement photo shoot can be when you're with someone you adore. Even though it was super windy that day in Saint Augustine, their devotion and deep affection for each other shine.

Castillo de San Marcos makes a fantastic backdrop for photos with scarred masonry walls and bright green lawn.

Historic downtown St Augustine has an endless supply of picture perfect scenery and textures.

Vilano Beach is a lovely, nearby spot for a total change up in locations with an outfit change and all in time to catch the sun as it begins to set.

Beautiful Jacksonville Wedding Album

Velissa and Willie had a gorgeous wedding day at Embassy Suites Baymeadows in Jacksonville, Florida and Favorite Photography had the pleasure of being a part of it all.
Jacksonville Wedding Photography
They are another one of our amazing couples, so in love and great to work with! Jerry Favorite photographed all their special moments starting with candid, getting ready photos, the ceremony, formal family and wedding party photographs and a plethora of images throughout the reception celebration.
Jacksonville Wedding Photography After the happy couple selected their favorite photographs from their wedding day, Jerry designed the custom montage album in Photoshop. Our archival photo books have ultra thick, seamless pages.

Velissa and Willie's wedding album is a classic storybook they will have to treasure for many years to come. Their "Tiffany" aqua blue and soft cream colors were bright and elegant. They had beautiful details and accents from flowers, jewelry, programs to favors and decorations. We love their wedding album and photographs and hope you enjoy them too!

Top 10 Tips for Photographing Honeymoons & Vacations

Summer is here! Weddings are in full bloom and happy couples are heading off to destinations unknown. Kids are out of school and families are traveling near and far. Make the most of your vacation by capturing memories that you'll treasure for years.

vacation photos
Here are 10 simple ideas to get you on your way to better pictures:

1. Tell a Story
  • Take pictures from the time of your departure to your return to tell the complete story of your trip.
  • Capture details, like maps, signs, statues, local wildlife and more.
  • Keep a little note book on hand to write down quick details to use later.

2. Always Have your Camera Handy

  • You never know when a photo op will arise, so don't leave your camera in the hotel room!
  • A compact point and shoot camera is easy to carry no matter where you're traveling.
  • In a pinch, cell phones make a decent back up.

3. Take Lots of Pictures

  • Multiple images will give you more to choose from, since not every photo will be perfect.
  • Don't rush. Wait for the right moment.
  • If there's a lot of action, shoot more pictures quickly. (makes a great series)

4. Look for Themes

  • Themed images will help tell a unique story.
  • Photograph common items in your travels.
  • Themes like signs in Las Vegas, shells on the beach, fashion items in New York are a few ideas.

5. Capture the Local Flavor

  • Interact with the locals and learn about their culture.
  • Always ask permission to take someones picture.
  • Unique (funny or breathtaking) subjects make wonderful photographs.

6. Photograph your Food

  • Take pictures of everything good and exciting you eat.
  • For a more dramatic picture, move in close to fill the frame with just the plate of food or desert.
  • Trying new foods is a fun part of traveling and pictures will remind you of the experiences.

7. Do your Homework

  • Know the features of your camera.
  • If you have a new camera, bring the manual along on the plane or road trip to read.
  • Scope out hot spots online of the area you're headed and get inspired to take better pictures.

8. Protect your Gear

  • A zip-lock plastic bag is easy to fold up in your pocket in case of rain or wet adventure ride.
  • Have a good quality camera bag to safely store your camera and supplies when traveling.
  • Keep your camera out of the hot, direct sunlight.

9. Accessorize

  • Expand your photo possibilities with different lenses, like a wide-angle or telephoto lens.
  • A small travel tripod is great to have on hand for night shots or time-delayed pictures.
  • Take the plunge with a waterproof camera so you can go anywhere, even snorkeling.

10.
HAVE FUN!
  • Forget forcing posed pictures. Candid shots often show the great moments best.
  • Blend into the environment to avoid feeling or making your subjects feel self-conscious.
  • Photography does not have to be a chore. Relax and have fun.
Jerry and Karen Favorite wish you wonderful summer travels, many great memories and tons of fantastic photos! Share your images with us on Facebook! Don't forget to edit and print your pictures for framing, photo albums and canvas gallery wraps when you return from your vacation.

New Favorite Photography Website

For the last six months we've put all our extra time in building our own new website from the ground up! It's been a tiring yet rewarding project. Our old site was missing Karen's wonderful Family Photography and Jerry's awesome Commercial Photography work.

Our Wedding Photography now has multiple galleries, like: Wedding Highlights | Wedding Details | Bridal Photo Sessions | Engagement Photo Sessions | Wedding Albums

When we're meeting with new clients and discussing their wedding photography needs, most are looking for samples of the ceremony and reception locations. To help visualize your special day and get lots of great wedding ideas, from colors, themes, flowers, dresses, decorations and favors to the actual ambience and lighting of the event venue, we're creating galleries by location. We have started to sort through the hundreds of weddings we have photographed and some are already online at: Jacksonville Area Wedding Locations and St. Augustine Area Wedding Locations.

While working on the main photography site, we also installed a new Photo Cart which is so much better and hosted on a server that won't limit how long we can leave your wedding or family photo galleries up online. Now offering easy ordering and free low resolution downloads for you to share with your friends and family on Facebook. We love hearing from our happy customers and seeing our pictures on their profiles (especially when we get a nice "thank you, you're the best" :)

During all this we've also gotten more active with Twitter... so addicting. This poor little blog got left behind, all but forgot. Well, no longer... We've got tons of ultra cool photos we've been shooting this year and lots to say about our amazing clients!

Fay & John's Club Continental Wedding Album

Fay and John had a fabulous wedding this summer at Club Continental. Even though it did rain and the ceremony had to be moved inside, no one missed a beat. They were just happy to be getting married and everything turned out just beautiful! We had a great time capturing some creative shots and fun images.

Saint Augustine: Historic Downtown to Vilano Beach

Karen had a wonderful time photographing Amy and Tyler throughout historic St. Augustine. We started at the fort and wondered around the cobble streets. Then we drove over to Vilano Beach to complete the engagement photo session. Looking forward to their upcoming wedding next month!

Here are some of the images our friend, Heather, choose as her favorites. Narrowing down the selection is the hardest part of the job!

April Wedding at The Florida Yacht Club

Congratulations to Michelle Dover and Robert Smith who were married on April 24th at the lovely Florida Yacht Club. The beautiful  flowers were created by Kelleys Bloom Room.  They had a wonderful ceremony outside on the terrace overlooking the st. Johns River with downtown Jacksonville off in the distance and reception inside the elegant ballroom. Here are several of our favorite pictures of the happy couple along with some detail images.
